Mackey has opened up a good lead on King and Swenson, one of them has yet to take their 24 rest stop. He still has 15 dogs pulling, they had best not let him get to the river or he is gone.

At 0140, while you are sleeping. Mackey is just forty miles from hitting the Yukon River. According to the charts, King and Swenson is in hot pursuit. But, according to the GPS, Macky is at mile 426, followed by Backen at 397, Baker at 389, and Swenson is driving without his GPS according to the chart and his time out. By the time you awaken, they will be on the Yukon. When you check you GPS, click on the tabs above, the screen and open it to the geograpical tab, shores you all the rivers, hills, trails, and even some roads up by Ruby. Pretty cool.

I woke several times to keep track...my dog and I...some minor issues with Mackeys team could lead him to trouble...if he pulls this off he will have to be one hell of a good dog runner...His main lead dog suffered leg wounds from a dog fight with his second lead...had to be dropped...Hobo is Mackey "ace in the hole" and his best friend....and if a new lead is not bad enough...his third...a Bitch...is in heat...moving her to the back made the others try and turn around...he has had to stop frequently to reposition her...maybe he finally just put her in the lead and said..."Run girl friend or ALL these boys are gonna git ya."....she is his only female on this team I do believe...he leaves them behind for a reason...his web site tells about all his dogs...he sounds VERY attached to them.
