Update on the Quest
| Lance Mackey had the lead coming into stepping stone when Ken Anderson raced through stopping only long enough to check in and check out. Took Lance 58 minutes to get back on the trail. Since both left the last check point and Ken arrived several hours after Lance in Stepping Stone I am going to guess that Ken rested along the trail some where... So the race is in it's last leg and the Yukon Quest Title for the year 2008 looks like it is going to be close.....Lance has the speed dogs...but Ken has the lead..... Stay tuned....for morning update. |

post a commentSince I doubt yu read the sport page of your paper, an article today on the Yukon Quest. Reporter ask Mackey what he was going to do on his long layover. He told them that his dogs wree in good shape, so he figured that he would spend 10 hours taking care of his dogs, 10 hours of drinking Crown Royal and coke, 10 hours in what I assume is the local bar - don't know what he planned for the other six.
Well if Lance did decide to hit the bar...he is running good drunk...he is only 20 minutes behind Ken now...with two more dogs on his team...he is sticking to his plan...and hopefully it works for him.
