A Chance To Learn About Each Other

A cancer room I once belonged to had a board for games...one of the games was a question and answer game...the purpose of this game for me is for us to get to know each other better...we have spent years biologically related but it's obvious by dads trivia game we may not know each other as well as we thought....so here goes.....

1. When you were a very small child...what was the first thing you "wanted to be when you grew up?"

At a young age, living in Colorado, I would walk to town each Saturday and pick up pop bottles to dedeem them for the deposit refund. I could collect enough bottles to raise the capital to attend the Saturday matinee which cost a dime and still have money for snacks. I loved the western movies, the classics such as Gene Autry, Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rogers. That brief time at the movies provided enough imagination to fuel me for a week. I would run the adobe hills behind our little ranch reliving the moments of the Old West. Billy the Kid and the James Brothers were no match for my fast draw and ambushes in the gullies. Then they invented something called t.v., the first one that I saw, the screen measured about the size of the modern day "cell phone" screen and you could almost see the picture if yur atenna was 60 feet tall. With the coming of the "new" age, I was exposed to Matt Dillion, (James Arness)and he became my instant hero. He had everything, a fast gun, a nice horse, and Miss Kitty. So in a nutshell, I wanted to be a Cowboy!

I am not sure I wanted to be anything...as a young Child I wanted to dance or ice skate (like Dorothy Hamilton). As i got older I wanted to do graphic Design and Photography. My GPA kept me out of Seattle Art Institute.

I know this will sound obvious to the ones who know me, but the one thing I wanted to be since I was VERY little was a model.
My mom used to tell these funny stories about me just looking at myself in the mirror. She said i would stroke my hair so lovingly while smiling at myself in the mirror. The funny thing was until I was about three I had scraggly hair.
The only thing was that every time my mom would tell this storie, everyone would laugh at me.
I know now that the storie is funny and that is what they were laughing at. Yet somehow over the years even though I have had several chances to act or sing I have always froze. Performing in front of people scares the crap out of me. Even talking to large crowds makes me nervous (yes gs meetings are really tuff when parents show up).
It is kind of sad. Even though I have always wished, it will never happen. I'm not sure if that is what I dreaming about know.
